Anyone tried Shake Shack? They say they can do gf and have a menu showing allergens…
bssouza920 Many times and I have never had an issue, enjoy!
emilycburdette They have one of the best gluten free burger buns I’ve ever tried! And I’ve never had a problem! 1 reply
Danielle98277 I’ve had a severe reaction at shake shack and if you have celiac I wouldn’t try it.
1idaAnne They are my go to for GF burgers.
katkatkat I love shake shack. Their burger with a gf bun is super yummy. No fries but you can get ice cream!
klperry Love shake shack. They do an amazing job and no cross contaminations to date. 7 years of greatness.
mary167706 Thank you, everyone!
tawnie3244 I have never had a problem, but I when I place my order I always tell them I have celiac disease, explain that it’s like a severe allergy to gluten, and tell them that whoever makes my meal will have to change their gloves. Their fryer has gluten in it, so I don’t order the fries. Sometimes their seasonal shakes contain gluten, so I steer clear of them and order regular flavours. Bon appétit!
jean747B No problem for me in Wash. DC., very conscientious staff, advised which condiments & shakes where gluten free. Tasty bun, though too large to eat both halves.
alexisnielso48864 I went and it was incredibly expensive and the burger was not very good. Fries are also not celiac safe due to cross contamination from the mushroom burger.
elena0409 i go to the one near me and they’re usually very good!! If you’re ordering with people that do not eat gluten free though, they usually put the orders on the same tray which is touching…..I would recommend ordering separate and make sure you specify its a “severe allergy” as I’m not sure most restaurants understand what celiac disease is. They do not have a dedicated frier, but most locations do offer a gluten free burger bun! i have never gotten sick here and I have celiac!
hdragule I learned each Shake Shack is often run differently. The one closest to me in Las Vegas has a dedicated fryer and well informed employees. Never had an issue. I went to one in Glendale, CA - no dedicated fryer, uniformed employees, still managed to get cross contaminated. You have to sort of suss out the informed level when you get there.
