Review of Kie-Gol-Lanee

5004 N Sheridan Rd, Chicago, IL 60640

Review

This local spot is nestled in Uptown, right off the Argyle stop! The majority of their menu is gluten free, with only a few options containing gluten (marked by a G on the menu).

“Kie Gol Lanee” is the phonetic spelling of “Quiegoloani” and the name of the small village in Oaxaca, Mexico where the owners are from: Santa Maria Quiegolani.

They have so many authentic Oaxacan dishes to try! My favorites were the queso panela frito (fried cheese with roasted pepper sauce and coleslaw) and the chuletas de puerco (stuffed pork chops with a delicious tamarind sauce)!

They use separate fryers / cookware for gluten free items. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They also have alcohol free margaritas which were great!
