I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for El Valle as I’ve been there a few times! I’ve been more and more impressed each time I go since it seems like they have tailored their menu to be mostly gluten free. For the vegans out there, they also note vegan items on the menu.
The space is hip and trendy. Gets super loud at the dinner service so if you have a hard time hearing your dining companions, you may want to check it out at other times or sit on their outside patio.
My sig other and I love ordering plates to split. On our recent visit, we each had a non alcoholic beverage. I love that they have an array of non alcoholic wines, beers and mocktails - far more than other restaurants in the area. Non alcoholic wine isn’t my favorite unless it’s a Prosecco style since the bubbles seem to make the non alcoholic wines more enjoyable. I would like to see them add a non alcoholic bubbly if possible.
We shared the scallop crudo, ceviche, Caesar salad and octopus quesadilla. The crudo and ceviche were ok. The fish wasn’t as fresh as we would have liked. (We’ve had the ceviche before and have had fresher fish.) We preferred the ceviche to the crudo; there was something missing in the crudo dish that could have elevated it. The Caesar was so delicious. It is enormous and enough for two hungry people to share. The octopus quesadilla was also really tasty. I was surprised it was made with corn tortillas. I actually think the corn complemented the octopus well. When I come again, I’ll definitely order the quesadilla and the Caesar salad!

We attended a Sunday brunch. The menu is super gluten-free friendly. Plus, our waiter assured me that my order would be flagged. Yummy stuff, folks. I had steak and eggs. Bottomless mimosas, if you’re interested.

Gluten items were marked on the menu, but not all of them. Our waiter was able to tell us what was and wasn’t GF. Good amount of options and the food was really good.

Wonderful food. Our waitress was sure to check with the kitchen for all of my order and has family members with celiac, so she could relate and was understanding. Fryer is not GF. I had the scallops. They were cooked perfectly and no ill effects after. I’d say the majority of items on the menu were GF.

They were very nice, and they tried their hardest to be helpful. They had gluten items not marked properly on the menu, and the food made it to my table before anyone realized. It wasn’t until the manager came over that they finally let me know what I could eat safely. Again, they tried to be very helpful, but just be cautious when ordering if you go here.

Talked with the general manager, he mentioned all of the staff was trained to be aware of celiac and to notify the kitchen. Said all new cook surfaces will be used. Their adobo sauce is gluten free, so the barria tacos are full systems go. And… to top that all off, they have a separate fryer so any fried corn items could be made gluten free.

Just went - they mark the gluten items on the menu (except the dessert menu? - not sure about this). Food was great, did not get cross contaminated and had a great time.

I’ve been here a couple times without any issues. I get their chips, guacamole, and tacos. They are very accommodating!

They were great in pointing out items on menu that were gluten free (I told them I was celiac so they accounted for cross contact). They grilled my corn tortillas for tacos separate from the flour tortillas upon request and even modified one of the desserts to make it gluten free since none of the desserts are. Overall, there were many safe gluten free options, just make sure to specify gluten allergy/celiac!
