I was assured that the chips were cooked in a dedicated fryer, but I got sick. All I had was a beef burger on a gf bun. I have no idea what made me sick.
This restaurant has a varied gluten free menu. Delicious food!

I went here based on other good reviews. The restaurant was not busy and we waited forever for our food, which was expensive and not that good. I just ordered a gf burger and salad. Fries are not gluten free. It was definitely not that good, especially for a $15 burger and sucky service.
Food is expensive but delicious. French fries are gluten free and some of the best I have ever had. The bun is made by a European company called Mountain Farm. Really awesome bun.

Great food and great service. Ask for Paul.

Overall, the food was quite tasty, and I’d rate it higher except for multiple snafus, both gluten-related and not. The waiter, who was new, was unaware that there was a GF menu, as it had said on this app, so I found it on their website and showed it to him. (He was otherwise wonderful and attentive.) However: my steak arrived wearing a large glutinous roll like a crown. :-/ I also can’t have dairy, or potatoes, and I’m pretty sure the asparagus was buttered, not oiled, as it tasted deliciously buttery. I had ordered a sweet potato in lieu of regular, but after about an hour went by and no food, they came back and said they just wouldn’t get done. Then, they said they had run out of my companion’s order, crab cakes. After an hour. No, seriously. They comped our meals, and gave us coupons, which did make it all okay...but “gluten-risky” is how I would rate this place. The waiter conveyed the appropriate info to the line, and yet. The roll. Sigh.
My husband and I love this restaurant! They have a separate gf menu with salad, steaks, and sandwiches. We've been several times and I've never gotten sick (I'm highly sensitive). Great steaks and you have to try the "kitchen sink" on gluten free bread! AMAZING!
Great place! The waiter was very gluten free friendly and accommodating.
Steaks are good, and there is a decent selection of GF items in the menu. Staff seem knowledgeable about gluten and we've never had a problem with cross contamination.

After getting sick at a few restaurants I was nervous to eat out again. For me, gluten and dairy cause a lot of pain and gut issues that I've delt with since I was a child, I've only recently figured out it was gluten and dairy. I read the reviews about Ted's and decided to give it a try. Before we were seated I asked for the gluten-free menu. The server was great and understood my concerns. I ordered the bison filet, sweet potato no butter and the kale salad with no corn salsa or dressing but I asked for olive oil. The food was absolutely fantastic and I indeed felt I could trust the cookstaff. As my friend and I were enjoying our meal the owner came by and asked how everything was, genuinely concerned since I ordered the "special request". I told him my situation and how I read that Ted's has a separate fryer and such. He said yes and that they make sure my kind of meal is done right. Wow! I will absolutely come back. It's now four hours since the meal and I feel great. I appreciated finding a place that understands how serious our requests are. Thank you Ted's in Alexandria, VA, Old Town

Good gf place. Very good gf menu. Dedicated fryer. Great steak and fries. I'll go back.
Ribeye was delicious. Most the menu is burgers without the bun. Wait staff was not knowledgeable and didn't notice the different menus. The broccoli was ordered dry and showed up with cheese on it. Either the waitress or the chef weren't knowledgeable. I'll try again if I don't get sick.

We ate here for dinner. There were plenty of choices. I had a steak, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Meal was good, but nothing to write home about. They have homemade chips and homemade dip which are also gluten-free. Cooked in a separate fryer. They were delicious. I felt completely safe eating here.

I never had any issues with the GF options giving me any reaction. Their bison burgers are always excellent, and the cucumbers are delicious.

Dang, did my research and I got burned.
Though I had expected it to be slow, this place was pretty busy at 1pm on a Friday from graduation parties, and short staffed b/c one server hadn’t come in.
They gave me a gluten free menu, which is normally a very good sign that a resultant cares. I ordered and was very clear that it was an allergy and not a preference.
I got the “Avalon” bison burger (dressed with various cheeses and onions fried in bacon grease) with gluten free bun and fries. I ate the fries first (they have a dedicated fryer) and felt okay, ate the burger and then got rather ill.
I suspect there was cross contamination with the bun, which was toasted. The server said they had a dedicated toaster, but I suspect that someone forgot to change gloves when collecting the buns or something happened with the onions.
I’m quite sensitive, steer clear of this place if you are too.

They were AMAZING! When we were seated we asked for a gf menu. Our waitress made it a point to ask if we were gf for health reasons or by choice. It was nice! Usually people assume it's by choice, but she made sure to make sure everything was separated out because of my celiac disease! They were even very attentive for being so busy! Definitely will be back!
