Food was awful. Waiter was clueless about gluten free and/or celiac disease. The manager (or what I am assuming was the manager) tried to assure us the food was gluten free. However, the food arrived to the table and was not gluten free. The kitchen remade the food and (after waiting 30 mins) the food was awful. Summary: the entire party of five did not enjoy their meal AND they served gluten “by accident” to a customer who was very clear about having celiac disease and needing gluten free food. I would stay away.

My family frequents the Silver Diner often. They always have great gf options - sandwiches, burgers, pancakes, French toast, etc.

We have been ordering from Silver for years now. Even when they are running promotions with new foods, there is usually at least one gf item. The only criticism I have is that I wish they did an old school regular ol pancake. We’ve ordered breakfast, lunch, and dinner from silver and everything has always been top notch.

Silver Diner has an extensive gluten free and plant-based menu. I love coming to Silver Diner for brunch because I know that the staff is knowledgeable and will take the necessary precautions to prevent cross-contamination. I enjoy the French Toast!! So good!!

Tasty options and knowledgeable staff! My waiter confirmed that my food (Oaxaca omelette) would be prepared on a separate surface. Came with GF bread! The kitchen isn’t completely gluten free but they do take precautions for celiac.

My appetizer was great but was accidentally given regular French toast instead of gluten free and was sick for weeks.

They seemed concerned enough about safety, when it came to gluten, but my actual meal (which we had delivered) wasn’t remotely similar to what I ordered. Fine if what I ordered wasn’t GF, but she could’ve told me that on the phone. Probably the worst meal I’ve had in years.

I eat here a lot and never get sick. The food is delicious and the staff knows about gluten free. I love their options. Plenty to chose from.

Love places that I can eat the fries! Had the build your own burger and it was yummy. Had it delivered to my hotel when traveling. No problems. Adding this place to my list!

Silver Diner has made great strides with their gluten free offerings and food handling protocols. A year ago, I became violently ill after eating some allegedly gf pancakes. Recently, I gave them another chance and the experience was wonderful. Waiter was knowledgeable, food was safe and delicious, and the menu has improved over all.

Food is so delicious that we went back 2 days in a row! Lots of gf options and vegan too. Lots of healthier options. They even have organic ketchup! The avocado toast on gf bread was amazing! My kids loved it too!
It’s not often you find a diner that is so gluten-friendly! They have a great GF menu, even gluten free French toast! I had the quinoa coconut pancakes with a side of bacon and a scrambled egg and had no issues. Everything was delicious and the diner itself is neat!
this place is awesome. there's options for everyone
the best gluten free brownie I've ever had. EVER.
Love this diner. Server is having the kitchen make exactly what I want off menu.

UPDATE February 2017. They have segregated their fryers so it is safe to have french fries. This is not true for all Silver Diners but this location has made the change. Thank you! Now if we could only get this chain to use better GF buns on their hamburgers.....
They have a dedicated fryer now!!

I imagine this place is great if you have kids or if you really like sweet foods, but personally I don't have any kids and prefer savory foods. Their savory menu is pretty limited and pricey and the menu is difficult to decipher. I would only go here for dessert but not an actual meal as the food is just ok, but at least it is safe.

Amazing food and so many GF choices, including the kids menu. I had a question about one of their specialty burgers, and the manager came over to talk to me. One of the burger toppings was a breaded tomato - which has gluten. But then the manager said he could make a gluten free version with a fresh tomato and corn meal/egg. He not only went back to the kitchen and prepared it himself, but he also instructed the other cooks on how to substitute it too! Incredible experience and we will be back!!

Love the Silver Diner! Best burgers and sweet potatoes fries! I also have had the gf pancakes and they are super tasty!!

I was highly impressed with this diner. We recently were there for the first time and the manager came to speak with us to tell us what the gf options were for breakfast. My daughter opted for the kids gf french toast and loved it. What I liked best about this place is that they offered gf options on the kid menu at a typical kid menu price, which is hard to find. We will definately return.
Yes
steak and burgers without bun, one salad option, eggs, bacon, milkshakes. they state the mashed potatoes are gf..no gravy
I have been to this location many a time and I love their gluten free French toast. However 9 times out of 10 when I ordered a burger the have not given me a gluten free bun. I'd recommend only getting breakfast there.

I got takeout from them in 2020. I ordered an omelette with gf toast. I can't remember if there was a place to specify that it was gf due to allergy, but either I did specify that or there was no way to put it on the online order.
I looked at the dish in the car before I left, and it had a wheat flour biscuit laying on top of the omelette. I took it back in, told them I had ordered gf toast and that having the biscuit sitting on my food meant I couldn't eat it. They said they couldn't give me a refund right away, because I ordered it online, but that they would. I left my food there since I couldn't eat it. I asked to speak to the manager and she would not speak with me.
Within a day, I got a refund for less than a dollar. I called and again asked to speak to the manager, and she still would not speak to me, but the person I spoke to said she would ask about it and call me back. She did, and said the refund was for the upcharge for a gf toast since "that was all that was wrong with the order." I explained why that was untrue, and was told that was all they would refund.
So I called the corporate office. It took a little while to get someone to talk to me, but when they did, I was again told that they would only refund "their error" which was not giving me a gf toast. I again explained about cross contamination, and was told they had not done anything wrong beyond not giving me a gf toast. They would give me a gift card "as a courtesy". I finally did convince them to give me a refund "as a courtesy", but the emphasized that in the future i should not expect a refund for an entire meal with the error being putting a piece of ggluten bread on an order that needed gf due to allergy.
